BT has laid the groundwork for a further push into the Self Managed Superannuation Funds (SMSF) market with the launch of an SMSF offering on its flagship Panorama platform.

The company announced on Monday that the SMSF offering comprised of a fully integrated system that allows advisers, accountants and their clients to collaborate on the establishment and management of SMSF accounts.

It said the solution would offer access to the full range of investment options available on BT Panorama, supported by services that would help streamline the fund establishment process for individual trustees.

Commenting on launch of the new offering, BT General Manager, Platforms and Operations, John Shuttleworth said he believed advisers knew there wass no such thing as a ‘typical' client and that SMSFs were not really self-managed.

"SMSF clients don't suit a ‘one-size-fits-all' approach, given the diverse range of needs and preferences that these clients have," he said.

The BT Panorama SMSF administration service will be launched early next year.
