QIC appoints Steven Leigh to head up global real estate
Robert Carter is handing over the reigns as managing director of QIC Global Real Estate (QIC) boutique to Steven Leigh, formerly head of Australian operations at global property manager La Salle.
QIC chief executive Doug McTaggart said Carter had played an integral role in the firm's development over the past 22 years. He led the boutique since February 2009 after a number of other roles and is leaving to pursue consulting opportunities.
Carter will act as a consultant to QIC until the end of 2012 to assist in the transition of leadership.
Leigh left QIC in 2009 after 18 years with the company and will commence employment again at the end of July 2012.
McTaggart said QIC was happy Leigh had been identified through an independent search.
"His role will see him build on our existing portfolio of quality real estate assets and explore untapped opportunities in the Australian and international commercial property sector," he said.
