Hostplus has partnered with global private investments firm, Flexstone Partners, to start a US private equity emerging managers program, which would see risk-adjusted investment solutions made available to Hostplus’ members.
Flexstone Partners, which is an affiliate of Natixis Investment Managers, would invest in the first, second or third funds of US mid-market private equity managers over the next three years on behalf of Hostplus.
Nitin Gupta, managing partner at the investment firm, said US members of the program tend to deliver higher fund returns, on average, compared to the returns of their former funds.
Hostplus’ chief investment officer, Sam Siciliia, said developing and maintaining long-term partnerships with investment managers was critical to securing access to successor funds and future deal flow, and this was particularly true of private markets.
“This partnership between Hostplus and Flexstone is a demonstration of super funds’ search for new and diverse income streams for their members, and how our global multi-affiliate model can provide institutions with tailored solutions in new markets, while supporting innovation,” added Louise Watson, Australian managing director, Natixis IM.
