BNP Paribas Asset Management (BNPP AM) has appointed Jane Ambachtsheer as global head of sustainability where she would be based in Paris, effective 27 August.
Ambachtsheer would be responsible for BNPP AM’s sustainability, environmental, social and governance (ESG) integration and would report to Frédéric Janbon, CEO and head of investments.
The new global head was previously partner and chair of responsible investment at Mercer, and has spent over 20 years in the investment industry, with a focus on responsible investments since 2003.
Janbon said Ambachtsheer, who was also a consultant to the United Nations through the development of the Principles for Responsible Investment, was a seasoned professional, recognised globally as a leading influencer in responsible investments.
While we continue to strengthen our commitment to long term investing as well as acting as a responsible firm, having Jane on board will definitely accelerate the path to achieve our goals as a leading player in sustainable finance,” he said.
