The Financial Services Council (FSC) has again expanded its board with the appointment of Aberdeen Asset Management Australia managing director Brett Jollie as a director.

Following the recent appointment of BT Financial Group chief executive Brad Cooper, the FSC now has 11 directors, excluding the chairman Greg Cooper and the two co-deputy chairmen.

With 20 years experience in funds management across Australia and Europe, Jollie has been Aberdeen’s managing director since 2009 and, before that, held the role of chief operating officer.

Prior to joining Aberdeen in 2000, he held various positions at EquitLink, Chase Manhattan Bank and Permanent.

He is currently a Fellow of the Financial Services Institute of Australia and a member of the CEO Institute of Australia.

“Brett brings extensive Australian and international experience in the funds management industry to the FSC board,” Greg Cooper said.

“He will be part of a critical stage in the growth of Australia’s financial services industry as it expands from $2 trillion today to $3 trillion by 2020.”
