Aberdeen Asset Management has appointed Victor Rodriguez to head its Asia-Pacific fixed income business, with Nick Bishop to take over Australia's fixed income team. He and Rodriguez will continue to work closely together.

Due to the change, Anthony Michael has decided to leave the business with immediate effect after spending the last six years as head of Asia-Pacific fixed income in Singapore and 18 years with the company.

Rodriguez will spend more time in Asia as the year progresses, permanently moving to Singapore at the end of this year. He will then involve himself with the Australian fixed income strategy teams.

"Victor is a widely respected investor and his new role is an endorsement of his ability as a fixed income manager and his success in building a strong and stable team in Australia," Aberdeen managing director Brett Jollie said.
