The Federal Government has appointed Robert Priestly to the Future Fund Board of Guardians, to fill the vacancy left by Steven Harker.

In a joint press release, the offices of Federal Treasurer, Scott Morrison and Finance Minister Mathias Corman announced that Priestly would serve on the board for five years from 7 November.

Priestly would bring over 30 years’ experience in financial services to the board, having worked in investment banking, financial markets, commercial banking, investor services, treasury services and asset management.

He is currently the chair of JPMorgan Australia and New Zealand and a non-executive director of the Australian Securities Exchange.

The press release said that Priestley’s considerable financial acumen and business expertise would complement the board’s existing skills.
